Microsoft’s latest premium subscription, Copilot Pro, is now available at $20 per person per month, providing users with advanced AI services.
Microsoft announced a new premium subscription catering to individuals, delivering advanced AI services. The subscription extends Copilot AI capabilities to Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers, offering features like creating Copilot GPTs. While Copilot has been available for free through various channels, such as Bing and copilot.microsoft.com, Microsoft 365 subscribers couldn’t use it in apps like Word, Excel, and Outlook.
In response, Microsoft launched the Copilot Pro add-on on Tuesday, priced at $20 per person per month. This aligns with Microsoft’s commitment to providing a unified AI experience across devices and applications, ensuring users have access to relevant skills when needed. Copilot Pro users get priority access to Microsoft’s latest models, including the GPT-4 Turbo, ensuring faster performance even during peak times.
Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s head of Windows and Surface, highlighted Copilot Pro’s comprehensive capabilities in a recent blog post, emphasizing its ability to enhance performance, productivity, and creativity across various tasks such as writing, coding, designing, researching, and learning. Copilot for Microsoft 365, initially available to large companies and educational institutions, is now open to small businesses. Subscriptions, priced at $30 per person per month, are available to businesses using Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Standard, with up to 299 licenses.
Microsoft’s strategic focus on generative AI is evident in Copilot’s natural language prompts, allowing users to generate status updates based on meetings, emails, and chat threads. This move positions Microsoft as a major player in the generative AI space, attracting investors and recently surpassing Apple to become the world’s largest company by market capitalization.
